Gynecology Services
At SOCH, our expert
team of clinicians includes board-certified gynecologist and a certified nurse mid-wife
who are dedicated to providing exceptional care for women from
adolescence through the post-menopausal years.
The gynecology team
stresses the importance of preventive care. During
an annual physical exam, the physician or mid-wife will perform a
pelvic and breast exam to check for infection or abnormalities. The
woman will also have a Pap smear, a virtually painless test that
can diagnose cervical cancer in its earliest stage, when there is
the best chance for successful treatment.
Gynecologists
at SOCH are skilled at treating a number of conditions affecting
women. These include:
- Abnormal uterine bleeding
- Uterine fibroid
- Endometriosis
- Polycystic ovarian syndrome
- Osteoporosis
- Menopausal symptoms
- Painful menstrual periods
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Urinary incontinence
Treatment for these conditions may include
medication, or sophisticated surgical procedures. SOCH gynecologists
are experts in performing minimally invasive techniques such as endometrial
ablation to control abnormal uterine bleeding, as well as laparoscopic
and total hysterectomy to treat a number of conditions when other less
invasive treatments have failed to provide relief.
