Laboratory and Pathology Services

Pathology services are provided by a team of board-certified pathologists through an affiliation with the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

The Laboratories of Southern Ocean County Hospital are licensed by the N.J. State Department of Health and Senior Services, and accredited by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, the American Association of Blood Banks and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Priority testing for outpatients is available as needed to treat and monitor clinical conditions.  Routine testing is available to screen, assess, diagnose, support treatment and monitor clinical status. Most insurance plans are accepted.  The laboratory at Southern Ocean County Hospital offers services to outpatients at three convenient locations:

• Southern Ocean County Hospital, First Floor
  Hours:  7am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
  8:00am to noon on Saturday

• SOCH Center for Health,
  279 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor
  Hours: 7am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

• SOCH Center for Health,
  730 Lacy Road, Forked River
  Hours : 7:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday

No appointment is necessary unless glucose tolerance testing is required.
